2.1. Mang nghĩa"chờ, đợi"
=When you wait for something or someone, you spend some time doing very little, because you cannot act until that thing happens or that person arrives.

- I walk to a street corner and wait for the school bus.
- Stop waiting for things to happen. Make them happen.
- I waited to see how she responded.
- Angus got out of the car to wait.

- He told waiting journalists that he did not expect a referendum to be held for several months.
2.2. Mang nghĩa"sẵn sàng cho ai đó làm cái gì"
=If something is waiting for you, it is ready for you to use, have, or do.

- When we came home we had a meal waiting for us.
- Ships with unfurled sails wait to take them aboard.
- Three-hundred railway wagons were waiting to be unloaded.
- He had a taxi waiting to take him to the train.

2.3. Mang nghĩa"có thể giải quyết cái gì đó sau, chưa gấp lắm"
=If you say that something can wait, you mean that it is not important or urgent and so you will deal with it or do it later.

- Any changes will have to wait until sponsors can be found.
2.4. Mang nghĩa"hầu hạ, phục vụ (trong quán ăn...)"
=If an employee waits on you, for example in a restaurant or hotel, they take orders from you and bring you what you want.
