1. Mang nghĩa"lập trường, quan điểm"
=an attitude or opinion about something, especially one that you state publicly
IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:
- Với nghĩa này, stand là danh từ đếm được thường ở số ít
- stand on
- take a stand (on something) (=state your opinion clearly)
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ:
- I couldn’t vote for them because of their stand on social issues.
- to maintain one's stand (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: giữ vững lập trường)
- to make one's stand clear (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: tỏ rõ lập trường của mình)
- The president has not taken a stand on this issue.
2. Mang nghĩa"sự chống cự, sự đấu tranh chống lại"
=a determined attempt to oppose someone or something that you consider to be wrong

- Với nghĩa này, stand là danh từ đếm được thường ở số ít
- stand against
- take/make a stand (against someone/something)

- support for their stand against racism

- The Prime Minister must take a firm stand against extremists in his party.
3. Mang nghĩa"gian hàng, quán (ở chợ)"
=a large table or temporary structure used for selling things, especially food or drink

4. Mang nghĩa"khu vực, cấu trúc để trưng bày (triển lãm, quảng cáo..)"
=a large table at an exhibition where an organization offers information, goods, or services

5. Mang nghĩa"giá, bệ, khung (để đặt cái gì lên trên hoặc vào trong)"
=an object or a piece of furniture used for holding, supporting, or storing something
