CÁCH VIẾT CÂU "MAIN IDEA"IELTS WRITING TASK 2

IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:

• Main Idea hay còn gọi là Topic Sentence chính là LUẬN ĐIỂM chính mà thí sinh đưa ra để bảo vệ quan điểm của mình. 
• Nó nói lên ý chính của cả đoạn văn, vì vậy cần viết câu Main Idea thật rõ ràng, súc tích để người đọc có thể nắm được ý chính của toàn bộ đoạn văn đang viết về vấn đề gì.

• Quan điểm của người viết là Ăn rau xanh nhiều sẽ tốt cho sức khỏe thì:
  • (Main idea 1) Lợi ích 1: Ăn rau xanh tốt cho việc làm đẹp da
  • (Main idea 2) Lợi ích 2: Ăn rau xanh tốt cho vóc dáng 
  • IELTS TUTOR giải thích: Main Idea chính là những Lợi ích 1, 2 của việc ăn rau xanh

IELTS TUTOR lưu ý:

• Viết câu Main idea nên đơn giản, rõ ràng và đặt ở đầu mỗi đoạn văn để nêu lên ý chính của đoạn, không nên đặt ở giữa và cuối đoạn (rất khó để người đọc xác định đâu là main idea nhất là khi đi thi nhiều thí sinh viết sai grammar, vocab cũng như diễn đạt ý còn rối)
• Thông qua câu Main Idea, giám khảo sẽ nắm được ý chính của từng đoạn văn, cấu trúc đang viết có trả lời đúng câu hỏi của đề bài hay không

• Junk food is the main cause of childhood obesity.

• Ở trên là các ví dụ về main idea, sau các câu main idea này sẽ giải thích quan điểm trên bằng cách giải thích, đưa ra hậu quả, và các ví dụ cụ thể trong phần còn lại của đoạn văn. 
• Như vậy, đoạn văn sẽ bao gồm một Main Idea và các Supporting idea được dùng để giải thích, chứng minh, phân tích nội dung ở câu chủ đề. 
• Nên dùng các Linking words (Từ nối) để làm rõ thông tin như indeed, in fact, particularly... hay để đưa ra hệ quả như As a result, consequently,...

• Despite these reasons, there is a strong argument in favour of also promoting staff because of their performance. This can be seen by how some multi-nationals use annual performance and development reviews when deciding on promotion. Under this system, a supervisor can set targets for an employee and if those targets are met, then the employee can be promoted, even if they are relatively junior. Đề bài:

• Some people believe that school children should not be given homework by their teachers, whereas others argue that homework plays an important role in the education of children. Discuss both of these views and give your own opinion.

• Body 1 viết về view 1: Children should not be given homework
  • Main idea: There are several reasons why people might argue that homework is an unnecessary burden on children.
    • Supporting Idea 1: Firstly, some individuals believe time off school should be spent on outdoor activities to help students develop their soft skills.
    • Supporting Idea 2: Secondly, many parents would agree that studying too much can affect students’ health and increases their level of stress.

• Body 2 viết về view 2 (người viết ủng hộ quan điểm này): Homework plays an important role
  • Câu dẫn: In spite of the above arguments, I support the view that homework has an important role to play in the schooling of children.
    • Main idea: The main benefit of homework is that it encourages independent learning and fosters learners’ autonomy.
      • Supporting idea:
